Trauma-Informed Care: Foundations for Clinical Practice

This comprehensive 4-hour course provides mental health professionals with foundational knowledge and practical skills to implement trauma-informed care across clinical settings. Based on SAMHSA's six key principles (Safety, Trustworthiness, Peer Support, Collaboration, Empowerment, and Cultural Sensitivity), participants will learn to recognize trauma's neurobiological impact, create physically and emotionally safe therapeutic environments, avoid re-traumatization through careful clinical practice, and apply evidence-based stabilization and intervention strategies that promote healing and recovery. The course integrates current neuroscience research with practical clinical applications, including detailed guidance on assessment, session structure, grounding techniques, and phase-based treatment approaches.
