Compulsive Sexual Behavior and Intimacy Disorders: Assessment and Treatment
A graduate-level, non-pathologizing examination of compulsive sexual behavior (CSB) grounded in the ICD-11 Compulsive Sexual Behavior Disorder (CSBD) framework. This 2-CE course reviews the historical and ongoing controversies surrounding the construct, the criteria and classification debates, evidence-informed assessment and differential diagnosis, co-occurring conditions, contemporary treatment approaches, and the ethical and professional position of AASECT. Clinicians will learn to distinguish high sexual desire and moral incongruence from clinically significant impairment, apply validated assessment tools, and integrate culturally responsive, sex-positive care.
