This 3-hour continuing education course provides a clinically rigorous examination of multicultural counseling competence: Sue's Tripartite Model of awareness, knowledge, and skills; cultural identity development frameworks; intersectionality and its clinical implications; the specific adaptations required for culturally responsive assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning; implicit bias and its measurable effects on clinical decision-making; culturally adapted evidence-based interventions; and the practice of cultural humility as a professional orientation rather than a training outcome. The course moves beyond awareness to develop the specific skills that make multicultural counseling effective in actual clinical encounters with diverse populations.
