This course provides comprehensive training in multicultural and diversity competencies essential for effective counseling practice. Students will develop critical self-awareness regarding their cultural identities, biases, and worldviews while learning evidence-based strategies for working with diverse populations. The course emphasizes social justice advocacy, ethical multicultural practice, and the integration of cultural considerations into assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning. Students will explore systemic oppression, privilege dynamics, and culturally responsive intervention strategies through experiential learning, case studies, and community engagement.
